How long do fat transfer results last?
They're long-lasting. After a settling period of 3 to 6 months (some reabsorption is normal during this time), the remaining fat integrates permanently with the surrounding tissue. Keeping a stable body weight is the best way to preserve results over the long term.
Is this procedure safer than traditional implants?
Using your own fat removes the risks that come with foreign body implants, such as displacement, capsular contracture, and implant-related infection. The body recognises its own tissue, so integration tends to be smoother and complication rates are generally lower.
Do I need a certain amount of body fat to qualify?
Yes. The surgeon will assess candidacy during the pre-operative consultation. Patients with lower body fat may be advised to gain a small amount of weight before surgery to get the best possible result.
Can my companion come with me?
Yes, and we encourage it. Companion accommodation at the Chatrium Residence is covered for the full package duration at no extra cost. If they want to keep the room while you're in hospital (rather than checking out and back in), that's an additional AUD $175 per night.
When is it safe to fly home after surgery?
We recommend waiting at least 14 days. Long-haul flights carry a higher DVT risk after surgery, and the 14 to 17 day programme is structured so that the surgeon clears you for travel before you leave. The Azurite team won't book a departure transfer until sign-off is confirmed.
What happens if I have a complication after returning home?
Azurite coordinates post-return support through telehealth consultations with the Bangkok surgical team. If needed, we can also help connect you with appropriate local care in Australia.
